Think i have solved it.<br>

120.5 is the minimum factory dimension. Mine looks like 120.2mm so i think i need to go with a thicker gasket.<br>
<br>
Bit worried about the cam/sprocket now though after reading about skimmed heads.. Still need to source thicker shims and could do with a vernier ...

Last time i looked i had no response so here goes again..<br>

I need the minimum acceptable dimension used when you measure from the face of a Sprint cylinder head to the cam bearing face. Mine is 4.730 and i need to know if a standard gasket is ok.<br>

Normally heat would help but not much help when you can't start it. What are you using ? If it is a T bar type with universal joint these are not much cop. Use a deep socket with an extension and a ratchet and they should release. Did you do them up too tight last time?<br>

Water finds it's way down the pillar.<br>

I can see the inserts in the head but is there a way of telling if they have been changed to a harder material.<br>

I have been running inleaded with no problems before but now the head is off i was wondering how you tell. I think the head has had work done on it before but not sure if the seats were worked on.<br>

Rocket car man Sammy Millar used to drive with his head to the side due to the G force and eventually stopped driving because his teeth were falling out !. <br>
If i remember right he did approx 330 mph in 3.5 seconds.<br>
