Often a thankless cause (I was one of the original founder members of the Triumph Toledo Register back in the early '90's), so I know how much time, effort and dedication goes into the administration of the club.
concours
the concours class should be nearest to original not with polished brake pipes that's not how it was built seen the american ways before and where originalty is the goal the closest to the production line finish inc paint marks that are put back onto axles etc
you are alowed to coat plain cast things with a clear coat to protect from the elements etc but thats it
thats why it's it's common for old engine brackets to go on sale for the numbers to match the originals and where it's imposible for replacements to be found you can use others but it's points deductable etc....

That's the trouble with "Concours", everyone has their own idea of what "Concours" is or should be.

Re: Concours@TDCIR - what do YOU think?
Put the hat on anyway Ken, im just imagining you with the hat and magnifying glass looking like Sherlock holmes

With the concours topic its each to there own on how they drive and keep their cars and im sure they get great enjoyment out of doing such shows.......personally iv got my car to enjoy driving it and its no means concours, its a 38 year old car and it looks like a 38 year old car even down to 38 years of road grime its picked up!!
that dosent mean i dont look after it tho!!

If some members want a concours competition then its fine with me, i do agree with Al that the judges should be new members of the club and ill be happy to help in anyway i can!!

(aslongs i dont have to wear a hat to )

Im just there to enjoy the day and meet you guys, it'll be nice for me to put faces to the names that are on the forum!! my car will probably look even worse sitting next to some of the examples iv seen in DM but hey its a triumph and its on the road!! thats one reason i like this club so much...your car dosnt have to be a perfect example to be made welcome!!
Re: Concours@TDCIR - what do YOU think?
Gets my vote too. If you do do a concours points system, can I suggest people get points for number of miles driven in the last 12 months? That way, it will be a bit fairer for the people who use their cars regularly.

the wet n dry sanding paper, you are supposed to just get it damp first, not go swimming with it for 2 hours
