If They Float Your Boat...

#1 Post by mbellinger » Fri May 12, 2006 11:01 am

This is about as good as it gets - and fair value given the alleged expenditure (which I entirely believe).

Check out the underneath shots - someone has really done some money here.
Very nice! It was a red Vitesse convertible that got me into Triumphs in the first place. After being ferried around by a mate in several Vitesses, I was disgusted when he bought a Dolomite, but I soon saw the light.

A Vitesse with tuned 2.5 should be a great car, if a little scary.
Vitesse 2.5

My mate has just such a beast, 138bhp at the wheels the last time it was on the rollers. His daughter calls it 'The Monster', once you've heard it you'll know why ! He's currently working on a petrol injection system for it.

Thats a lovely looking car - I like the quad lamp ones, look really menacing.

Yet to drive anything with a well setup Triumph six, would love to. People are always going on about how well they really do go!
The vitesse mk1 ....just to be controversial, was the dynamic inferior to just about all its contemporaries...and they were up against some real dogs too...

Asthmatic old iron donkey up front and a bad joke rear suspension that was out of its depth with a 50 bhp herald engine...

Interior space to rival an MGB and the build quilaity of a renault dauphine...
About the only good thing about it was that unlike most roof removal drop top conversions, the vitesse wasn't actally made any worse by the effort.
You've no idea how much of an improvement the dolomite really was...and hence why the gearbox was the only bit they kept.
Not disagreeing with you there Jonners. Like I said I saw the light as soon as I rode in the Sprint and I've never been back.
