The picture needs to be hosted elsewhere and then link to the picture as you would do for any other site. For example, here is a picture of my sprint<br>

I've removed the bumper (for access) then removed the metal from the indent in the middle of the front panel (between the factory holes where the bumper goes through).<br>

The heavy duty (air con core) radiator that I was describing would appear to be different to the core in your photos. The air con core is both thicker and has a more cooling fins per inch than that appears to be in your unit.<br>
<br>
From memory, the core is a Natrad 819 core. Check around the local radiator suppliers and see if this seems correct info, and ask for their opinion on the core.<br>

Your photo resembles the type of core that Serck put into one of my rads some years ago that I put in for a recore. They too told me it was "uprated" which I think translated as different and not quite as good! It had a triangular type honeycomb matrix with from memory an element of plastic and aluminium in it rather than the old style copper (vertical) fins and brass (horizontal) waterways. Afterwards my car ran hotter so I took it back and insisted they recored it 'standard' rather than 'uprated' - it took them twice as long to do it the second time; evidently they weren't using stuff off the shelf this time!<br>

Really appreciate your thoughts on this. Based on what has been said - especially your latest Alun - I'm thinking the best bet would be to bite the bullet and get the rad re-cored with something as effective as possible. It's a shame since the rad is quite new but if it doesn't work what's the point.<br>

If you did....
get the rad from Triumphtune they would have had it done by Feltham Radiatorss who are top blokes of the old school and live in the unit round the corner from the Moss shop. Course knowing this I go direct and cut out the middle man.<br>
I'd give it a try before you give up on it. And read the previous threads on voltage stabilisors affecting guages before you right it off. I had a spit reading silly temps yesterday until I changed its stabilisor.<br>

I have some vague memory of going round the corner to pick it up actually. But did I get a comp version or std..??<br>

Still curious about the Volvo rad idea as well though. A quick look on the web reveals rads, fans, shrouds etc available as spare parts, Makes you wonder about ditching the rad and viscous coupling and inserting a giant fan-assited rad instead!<br>
