I fitted a new oil pump to the Sprint yesterday hoping it would fix my low oil pressure at tickover, it didn't . Anyway the new pump noe interferes with the oil cooler take off, Has anyone else experienced this problem? I ended up removing the takeoff, it looks like the edge against the oil pump will need a flat filing on it. The other thing is now the car runs like a bag of shite. i didn't touch the ignition or fueling so am at a loss. It was running perfectly well before I started tinkering with it<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/grin.gif ALT=" >D"> . I checked the timing, spot on, I'll pull the plugs to see if they are fowled up from when I was cranking it to build pressure before firing.
oil pressure
you could try new bearings, it will increase pressure. What's the oil presuure, it's not too critical at tickover.
Does it do 40PSI at 3000RPM?

Re: Oil pump drive...
Thanks Gents, I went back over it last night when I had a bit more time and wasn't rushing about trying to get it finished. Checked the points and timing, both were out. drove it to work this morning and it was alot better, though still had a bit of hesitation when cruising, I'll check again at lunch time. I do have about 45-50 PSI by about 2000RPM so I think all is well, just got a bit nervous about it after seeing my mates big end bearings he took out of his Europa. I didn't change it when I did the bottom end last time, which I normlly do.
