There was much bemoaning your departure was benign Daz...
I said give him chance to get on the straight flat bit...just as you opened it up We heard you for a bit after...
As you left we noticed your exhaust runs very close to the ground...is it supposed to? My Mum, nearly 82 commented "that red one was very nice..."
Excellent day! I don't think I've ever seen so many Dolomites in one place. There seemed to be a lot more than at Hatton 2 years ago. And a great mix of original and modified. Great to see all the dolly owners I haven't seen for ages and we were so lucky with the weather. Luke took his homework and a book to read and didn't even get them out of his bag. Matt and Mike I hope you've recovered from having the ball thrown at you, Matt I'll send you a bill for all the dents in the roof!
A cracking day out. Many thanks to all the organisers. Did anyone remember Jim's asking price? Sunburnt bonce avoided this time unlike Triumph World Picnic! Great breakfast at Glyn's beforehand sorted the guts after the previous nights curry! A few pictures posted on MSN later that day, but could't focus properly due to ball inflicted whiplash! Where's that lawyers phone number?????

Well, what a day.

Apart from getting up at 5 am (having come in from my mates party just before 3 am) and battling with the M25 (closed for maintenance on the way out, closed for accident on the way back) the entire day was superb.

Lots of thank you's.

To Malc et al for hanging on at Enstone for my (late) arrival. To Glynn for the superb and very welcome morning refreshment. To Ken for bringing the seats (you must have been sick of them - so sorry mate). To Malc (again) for bringing the bits for my 1500 that I only called him about late on Saturday. To the forces of nature for such wonderful weather. And to Andy and all the Committee for such a fantastic event and for their continued graft on our behalf, much of which goes unsung.

The turnout was immense with examples of just about every Dolly and some truly superb cars. It was so nice to see the line up of FWD cars in particular. I am delighted that these vehicles are beginning to get some interest. The relaxed nature of the event is charming and it was really good to put faces to names from this forum and to compare joys and traumas with like minded enthusiasts. Some lovely people and some smashing conversations.

A big thank you to the concours judges as well - I was genuinely chuffed.

Having nailed poor PKO, my 1300FWD, all the way to Enstone trying to make up time after the M25 hiatus at an indicated 95+ in the morning, I gave her a more sedate drive back, to the benefit of fuel consumption!

Very, very tired when I got back......

Roll on next year!

Pimp my ride was one of the funniest things I've read in a long time. Excellent effort.

I really enjoyed the day despite the fact that I turned up in one of hethel's finest. Caught up with Neil who I last saw when I purchased some wheels from him back in 2004 (I think). Christ knows how he remembered my ugly mush from that one meeting but he did!

Sorry to hear about your breakdown Martin, I think the car is trying to get you back for letting others look at her and having the 'for sale' details in all day. My guess is that the battery is fubared after not being used that much.
leccy ignition

Two things most likely then (I had this fault last year), either the coil or the leccy ignition box itself :/

I'm pleased to read that everyone enjoyed themselves, and I was especially impressed by the high turnout. It was really good to meet so many of you and to put "names to faces" to those of you whom I'd not met before.
I'd like to thank Al, Justyn and Ken for doing the concours judging, I think you did a splendid job and I'm sure that everyone will agree that the "contest" was an enjoyable bit of fun - especially for the winners!
I'd also like to thanks the traders and 'jumblers who supported the show, not forgetting a special mention to Rimmer Brothers who donated £100 of gift vouchers which were awarded as prizes to the concours winners. Don't forget Rimmers' Dolomite parts sale which is on for the next two weeks.
Judging by the lack of questions asked during the AGM I'm assuming that everyone is generally pleased with how we're running the club. As a result of the appeals I made during the meeting, the club has been approached by a number of volunteers offering their services for various tasks. This can only be a good thing for us, and hopefully this will lead to even more improvements to the service which we provide.
I've not seen any negative comments so far, so I'm guessing that there were no complaints about the format of the event or the venue. Although I do get a great deal of satisfaction from organising these shows (every annual rally since 199 , I'd really like a break next year so if a group of you would like to get together and have a bash at doing it next time, I'd be very pleased to hear from you.
Finally, a big thankyou to everyone who turned up, helped out and generally made the day such a success - see you next year!
Mart, whats up with your car then? Got to be something silly and improbably like a loose small mammal under the bonnet ....The suspense is killing me.....

Ok, Ok, I'm pretty sure its the coil (well done redrichie). It was getting so hot you could only just keep your hand on it. Now I don't think they should get that hot, so presumably, as I let it cool for a few minutes, it started working again, but only until it got bleeding hot again. Could this be correct?
