Its bad news. Its often caused by carbon build up. Try changing the spark plugs and reduce teh idling speed.<br>

Me too.
Getting some pretty bad overrun. I think the PO had the idle set to 1300 to stop the fairly loose exhaust wobbling too much, but it's quite the jok ein my circle of friends. <br>

The thought did cross my mind. But the engine loses no(t much) oil, runs nice and cool, fires well on all cylinders, and returns good fuel economy.

Very Idle
For the previous owner to ratchet up the idle to cure a ratly Zorst. This is likely to be at the root of your problem. In my experience, anything above about 950 RPM at idle is likely to cause 'run on', everyhing has too much motion in it to stop. I would adjust the idle to 850 or 900, check you ignition timing, plug gaps and mixture as the chaps have said.
