Re: Too Many Facebook sites?

For me I am a member of a few of the above mentioned groups and its mainly to see/buy stuff that pops up and goes quickly. The only reason I joined FB was for that. I use a lot of car, bike , engineering type pages and dont follow people who show what they had for lunch etc.
I still use a few forums ...

Re: Axle cover gasket weeping

I made my own with thick gasket paper, flattened cover around the holes, Used RTV on the cover side and a dab of grease on the axle side (itll be nice and flat on that surface) If I need to remove it the gasket stays on the cover and isnt stuck to the axle. Been fine for a year so far.

Re: SPRINT gearbox removal in situ?

Got the bugger out!. Slackened front subframe, removed rear frame nuts completely, held the engine up to the subframe height with a piece of plate so engine dipped down with the subframe. Also top tip from someone was to undo the rack clamps so I did that too. Wiggled the box out and now ready for ...

Re: SPRINT gearbox removal in situ?

Do the front subframe bolts need to be slackened too? Do the rear subframe bolts need to be completely free? ie nuts off. Had a mare earlier with box off the engine but no room to do much. (my lambda sensor was hitting the box). Had to bolt it all back up and remove downpipe in situ lol.

SPRINT gearbox removal in situ?

Ive never removed just the box leaving engine in, will the box clear the exhaust down pipe? Rest of the system is off and gearstick out etc. Im using a 2 post ramp so can lower subframe a bit if needed.

Cheers

Re: wiring diagrams

The 6 wire thing sounds like a dimmer unit. Not all cars had it and can be troublesome I believe. Bit vauge sorry.

Re: Oil pump leaks

Everything said above is true, modern replacement pumps are poor quality from the factory. County pumps are notorious for being out of tolerance straight from the box more often than not.

It is sometimes possible however, to "blueprint" the pump yourself. taking a sheet of glass, some fine emery ...

Brilliant footage. Loads of legends in there too. The way motorsport should be shown imo. Also have a love for the rotary Mazda, noise :)

Re: Grinding valve stem tips

I can add another idea, get a reground cam and all the shims need to be thicker. I have one and still idles nice and pulls better than stock (once dialled in properly)
