Have you checked the viscous unit fan blades any movement side to side, also check the fan blade is not touching any pipe clips

Thanks Steve. My car is running on a set of 14 inch Revolution 5 spoke alloys shod with 185/60 tyres. I need 14's to clear the vented disc and 4 pot calipers.
I will keep an eye out for a MG spare.

Re: Dolomite Sprint OAD
Looks a nice find, while you have the spark plugs out but some oil down each spark plug hole, and then see if the engine will turn over by hand first

Re: Electric Fuel Pump
Ive put my pump inside the fuel tank, I'm using EFI on my car, i used a fuel pump from a classic Range Rover, if your going to fit an electric fuel pump remember your need a fuel cut of switch

Re: Sill replacement
Hi Ryan
When i replaced mine the step was rusted from the rear door back wards, so i had to make a new step, how much of your step have you cut out, if you've already cut most of the step out, it may be easier to buy a full sill from Rimmers

Re: New toy to play with
Yes it was a Triumph engine, only ever used in the Rover SD1,a bit like the Stag V8 in the day no one liked them, but now every one wants them, today you can tune them so there almost as powerful as the V8

Re: New toy to play with
Its a 2600cc
If you change the engine oil regularly, there's not anything wrong with the engine
for an SD1 the only rust is a little bit on both rear arches, the car needs new tyres as there old, hand brake needs looking at and oil leek on gearbox, and replaced the viscous unit
