I got the water pump repair kit for Paddocks (JPS128) taking the pump out was no drama and doing the rebuild was ...

Probably worth checking the firing order from the cap, that Bosch cap type doesn't necessarily relate to the Lucas one in terms of which lead goes where!

I had plug lead 2 & 3 from the distributor swapped over!!!, she's now running quite nicely a bit tappy I must say ...

If that doesn't work (it should really) try jacking only 1 rear wheel, the differential effect will let you turn the engine (in 4th gear) just by rocking the wheel that is in the air.

Dave, maybe an adaptor is not quite the right word, its more of an adaption as I sent my spare dizzy to 123Ignition and they used the bottom half which included a newly machined clamp plate

"Static timing point" is indeed 10 degrees BTDC (before top dead centre) This is the point at which the spark would or should occur at the points if you still had them. So it's the point you should time the 123 to.

People, even hardened long term Sprint owners, often have trouble with distributor ...

So I did eventually decide to get a 123 dizzy, it arrived a couple of weeks ago and I am now attempting to fit it!
My first hurdle and still a hurdle if I need to move the timing marks, so I am open to any advice!

I'm going to leave the water pump alone for now but at least I now know what to address if it continues or gets worse

Hi all
I have a couple of leaks on my Sprint, its up on jacks so I've noticed a puddle of water on the floor its not a huge amount but enough to be concerned
I am almost sure its coming from here (this is a previous pic the engine is back in the car, but that orifice is obscured)

Ok so no adaptor being made in the UK? and we don't have any drawings to get them made

If I want a 123 Distributor I send one to somewhere in the NL and they make it, am I getting this right?

Unfortunately Mick had just sold his last one so I was forced to get them from Rimmers

I took a while trying to fish out the wires but with the new switches fitted and some maintenance on the fronts (dodgy connections) I now have the light coming on when it should on all 4 doors

Looks like I have some cable hunting to do inside the B post, sent a message to Mick Dolphin hopefully he has a couple of switches

Can anyone with a Sprint or I guess the Dolomite variants tell me if the rear doors have the switches? My sprint has a hole with nothing on the OSR and on the NSR just a bracket

So I had a trip the NEC Restoration show yesterday and wandered along to our stand where lucky for me Alun (xvivalve) was doing his thing
He had read my post and knew that I was possibly looking to change the master Cylinder to dual.

Alun had a Dual Master on the stand, plus the pipe work and PDWA ...
