Re: 1850 engine plate

I put my box back on a few months ago, I seem to recall the fixings were a
mixture of nut & bolt and blind tapped holes.
So yes, I think that is how it`s supposed to be.....

Re: A couple of leaks

Just got the cage out - fairly easily with slide hammer & 90degree fingers
cleaned it up, pushed it back on the shaft till it was home on the bearing face then
put in new o rings.
pump back in the block, still looks a little bit high to me, will see how it goes tomorrow.
thanks for the help everyone

Re: A couple of leaks

Hi ive fitted the new seal to the water pump, fitted the pump back in and now the housing won`t bolt down, (it did before hand )
its miles off maybe a gap of over 1mm. pump shaft seems to be in as far as it goes, obviously i have to be careful,
don`t want to chip the helical gears.
a couple of ...

Re: Fuel Tank Crud

Then add a coat of POR15 tank seal to stop it coming back.....
I did mine a while back & its working a treat at the moment. it even filled pinholes
in the bottom. Have to follow the instructions carefully to get a good result.

Re: A couple of leaks

I`ve just spotted on the Rimmer Website a water pump water seal pt no 148322 which lists under stag parts but not Dolly for some reason
I guess this is the culprit and I just need to get the impeller off....?

Re: A couple of leaks

Hi all,
I have the same problem with my 1850, I`ve just run the engine after a lengthy lay up during which I replaced the Pump housing top cover with
a `new` recon unit from Rimmer (std 6 vane), with gasket thickness selected as per specs in thew manual.
Water drips out of the slot under the pump ...

Re: Rear door locks

Hi all,
I don`t recall seeing a gasket under the lock, so it may have already disintegrated but it was a while ago when i painted the car.
It does make sense that this or the mechanism to the outer handle is suspect.
Now I`ve pretty much finished all the other jobs this one is heading back up the to ...

Rear door locks

Hi all, since repainting my 1850HL, when I loosened the lock mechanism blocks and exterior handles (but didn`t disconnect anything)
to get a better masked finish, both rear doors now open only from the inside.
the fronts continue to work fine and all 4 pull up lock buttons in the capping seem to be ...

Re: 1850 Clutch Change

Yes, box back in clutch cyl. sits over hole covering the front half.
leaving the obligatory gap for an errant washer to enter :(
Box went back in as a pretty easy one man job a few days ago.
I was expecting more grief, but my next job of refilling the brake lines
which I thought was going to be ...
