Re: Boot lid not fitting - At all !

I had a similar issue a few years back. I bought an immaculate boot lid from a breakers, took it off the car myself so knew there was no accident damage etc, had it painted, fitted it but could not get it to shut at all, tried adjusting it but in the end gave up.
I then refitted the original with a ...

Re: Sprint ignition timing.

I run my Sprint engine with the fast road cam and 45DHLA Dellortos as well.
I have set the ignition at 10 degrees BTDC and it runs nicely at that with no pinking.
I do have the vacuum connected as well.

No idea what the CO readings are, it was set up on a rolling road to run sweetly, not ...

Sprint ignition timing.

Hi,

My Sprint is running a Kent fast road cam and 45 Delortos.

Could somebody please confirm what the ignition timing should be set to and at what idle speed/vacuum connected or disconnected.

Also, exhaust cO content too.

Thanks in advance.

Chris.

Re: Sprint running too hot or not?!

Hi,

Thanks for all the comments, all greatly appreciated.
The fan switch I can’t remember the temperature setting now, I did keep the box somewhere….I’ll try find it.
The fan switch is wired using an earth that then energises the relay. ( working on modern cars for a living switching is nearly ...

Re: Sprint running too hot or not?!

Hi,

Thanks to everyone for the advice.
I do have an infrared temperature gun, some concerns over the accuracy.
I tested it with a boiling kettle, pointing it directly into the water it showed 97 degrees, however, pointing it at the kettle body ( stainless steel ) it only picked up late 40 degrees ...

Sprint running too hot or not?!

Hi,

Took the Sprint out for a short run the other day, the weather was pretty warm.
I’m trying to figure out if the engine is running too hot. Driving, the gauge goes up midway between half and the first mark after half. In slow moving traffic it goes to the first mark after half ( should have ...

The stubs look good. I’ve not had chance to get back on mine yet, how much will a pair of these cost assuming they’re still in stock?

Re: Sprint running temperature.

Interesting reading.
My Sprint sits at 3/4 on the temp gauge at idle, not got around to looking at it yet, but it doesn’t boil.
The sender unit should have a specific resistance at 84degrees?? I did think of putting the sender in some boiling water, then see where the gauge moves to.
So do we ...

Is the quality good??

Dolomite front stub axles.

Hi,

Can anyone recommend best place to buy stub axles ( just stub ) I see Rimmers and Robsport do them, any reports on quality?

I’m aware the hubs simply pull off, but is there usually any movement between the centre part of bearing race and stub, or should it be a snug totally movement free fit ...

Gutter chrome finisher trims.

Hi,

Is there any specific way to fit the Dolomite roof gutter trims?

Tried getting mine on yesterday, I’m finding if I hold the trim in place on the a pillar, the rear part is about a foot away from the car! I’m assuming that this should offer up without force, pushing the hooked top section over ...

Thanks for the info, I’d better get driving it and see what happens!

Re: Side stripes

Does make sense, I did think that the correct way was to apply to the complete side in one, so as nice and level, then cut between doors and wings after and fold the excess bit over the edge.
