Well sorry to see you go Paul...you'll be back. Hope you got a decent wedge for the Sprint.


Started fitting the exhaust this morning, then realised I hadn't cleaned/painted the propshaft, so I've put that on hold 'til tomorrow.

Mary has fitted up the insides of the doors & fitted the chrome bits (I helped ). We put the front screen in, and the rad is all nicely sprayed now.

I put the prop. on today but still haven't finished putting the exhaust on.

Mary has started to fit the new carpet...




I decided I would fit the oil cooler in front of the rad...






Then we set about making up a new rear parcel shelf...

Mary marked around the old shelf (missing out the speaker holes)...




I then cut the shape out with a jig saw & drilled the holes for the fixing clips...




Mary covered the hardboard with new vinyl & voila...




Rear Windscreen Fitting.

First I cleaned up the glass & the new rubber, then fitted the rubber to the glass...




...then I inserted the cord into the rubber...




...then put the windscreen in place...




...starting at the bottom centre of the screen, work the cord to one corner, then do the same on the other side. Then work it up one side, then the other. Then work into the top centre of the screen from both sides. As you work the cord around, you need to hit the screen, from the outside, with the side of your fist to get the screen to seat properly. So if you're doing it on your own there's a lot of getting in & out of the car...

car looking good mart mike,hope chapman and cliffe did a better job on your caps,they scrapped my first set,they come back pink!i wouldnt let them piant my toolbox never mind touch any wood,scrapped me caps and charged me 150 for the privilege!and heres me thinking dick turpin wore a mask!

The cappings were pretty good so we just refitted them.

I thought it was but looking at the "Passport to Service", the original suppliers were Howards of Exeter.

Another one edges the cuckoo in as my Mother would say Mart. Excellent work as usual. On my screen there is room for two, if not three more on your signature strip...

yes mike i would agree,120 to retian your original caps is cheap,and i would have been happy with my price had the caps been reasonable,but they were shocking you could see they were wrong before you took the bubble rap off!sent them back,and they did them again but they were so poor i just threw them away,they were a matched set as well bearing in mind i sent them an original glovebox lid to get a reasonable match off,i didnt expect an exact match but pink?it beggered belief.in the finnish i did my own,time consuming,and lots of elbow grease,but im very happy with the results,thier almost perfect. ps im the guy that outbid you on that chassis plate on ebay awhile back.

thanks for the offer mike,much appreciated,fortunantly im stocked up on matched sets now.when ive finnished my car(nearlt there,id post pics if i could work out how to get them on!)im going to renovate a few sets and sell them on for others less fortunate than my self.nice work on the cars mike particularly the yellow one,almost indentical to mine.

As you can probably guess from my other thread, I been concentrating my efforts on my track Sprint this weekend. But I have spent today on PFJ.

Exhaust has now had it's first fit (I'm sure it will need to be tweaked once the car is on the road), the petrol tank has been fitted along with some of the boot trim (kindly donated by MikeyB). Also fitted the rear anti roll bar.




Back seat fitted...




I've also filled the engine, gearbox & back axle with oil.
