Passenger side is all finished...

New gearbox wiring loom arrived yesterday...

Apart form polishing the wheels, which I must admit I've been dragging my heels over (done too many & it's no fun any more :( ) there's not much left to do. Haven't been able to put the gearbox tunnel in because of the loom & the exhaust heat sheild (which is on it's way). Started bleeding the brakes so hopefully finish doing that tomorrow.

I didn't do much on PFJ today what with cleaning the S2000 & watching the F1GP.

I have got all the wheels I need stripped of tyres etc. I phoned up the local kwik fit & asked how much to remove four tyres? Nothing, the chap said. That's cheap enough for me I says. :D Also found another '72 wheel in my collection.

Gearbox tunnel is now in and so is all the carpet. Windscreen washers sorted, bonnet on, all the boot trim, carpet etc. is in, so the boot looks nice & tidy now.

Still having trouble bleeding the brakes though. Pump the peddle & the fluid in the reservoir goes down a bit but then comes back up again. I had similar probs. last year with BFR. I've stripped the M/C down again & everything seems fine. :scratchin:

A big thanks to Andy for sorting out the 'Restoration Projects' forum. :D

An obvious question: Have you checked your brake hoses? Somebody had the same problem with a blocked rear hose. (can't remember who) I've got a pair of Goodridge hoses for Brown and I'll be making sure they're not blocked before I fit them.

That might have been me last year with BFR. Fluid is trickling through so I don't think there are any blockages.

Ordered the tyres today so thought I'd get on with polishing the wheels, 3 down, 2 to go. :D (that's not one of them in the pic btw)

A pic with the bonnet (hood) fitted.

Sorry mart you will have to rebuild the master again.
Look for the little spring blue washer at teh end of the sprung piston rod...and the little recuperating seal as well.
This will be whats causing the up/down in the reservoir malarky...

Yep, that's what I thought. If you recall, I had a similar problem last year & it was down to the crinkley washer not being seated properly. The seal & washer are new and definetley seated ok. I've had the brake pedal depressed for the last few days to see if that will help (a suggestion from someone on the forum).

Could just be a rough seainig surface at the bore end...

Trouble is the only way to find out is to unpick it all...

but its a lot better than a failling cross shaft so chin up...

Yes, thanks for those Benny. Not trying to be pedantic but they are under-riders as they sit below the bumper.

Anyway, tyres arrived this morning so Mary took the tyres & wheels down to a fitter we know. All tyres now fitted & only two wheels to finish polishing & painting. Hopefully be ready tomorrow.

Also fitted the spoiler.

Airbox has been sprayed, wiper blades all cleaned up (thanks for those Alan) & ready for some new rubber. Number plates fitted. Just need to get another brake m/c & bleed the brakes. Then just a few odds & sods. Then maybe MOT at the end of the week depending on when I get the m/c. :D

Hello, when having a dual brake system do you have the fiallure warning swith thing?
When you are bleeding for example the front brakes first, there becomes pressure in the front circuit. This pressure pushes the plunger in the warning thing to one side because there is no rear pressure yet. When this warning thing is sticky and the plunger does not come back when the pressure is off the plunger blocks the fluid feed to the rear. You cannot build up pressure for the rear and the front has already pressure so the plunger stays in place and the fluid will never go to the rear.

When you do replace the M/C and the problem is still you can check the warning valve thing.

Martins is single circuit so doesn't have PDWA valve - Pressure Differential Warning Actuator

Looking good Mart. I can only dream of an MOT at the moment.

I see that brake purge idea failed then. Never mind.

top job mart.

You know it scares the crap outta' me when I read that you are having problems and it is taking the brains trust's collective wisdom to nut out an answer. What hope is there for mere mortals :D
