I had a premonition of poor turn out yesterday so was gladdened to see so many make the effort. Maybe better to keep it earlier in the month?

Will be going back with my camera to have a proper look round and get some shots of the great new exhibits.

Well done to Bruce for organising a great event and a big thank you to all who helped with the proceedings, Mary & I had a great time. I don't know where the time went but I do know my voice was a bit hoarse with the amount of friends we spoke with. Thank you to all for the kind comments of THJ (which is for sale by the way) :D .
Sprintless for the first time in 35+ years. :boggle2: ... Still Sprintless.

Indeed - some great pictures there, and many thanks to the organisers.

It was particularly good to see the other Latham; 2 in the same place means a collection of about 10% of the cars ever made.
Or about 20% of the cars which ever got completed to "street-legal" status.
I'll get round to it - some day! :bluewave:

Great day - so many thanks to the organisers for their hard work and all you other guys who turned up. Pity about the chill. Mart & I had a fairly trouble free run up from Weston (where I met him enroute from Plymouth). Pulled off at Frankley for the obligatory wee stop and also to plan what route to take having seen the delays sign on the gantry just before - accident between M6 J9 + 10. After deliberating, decided to carry on up to J2 (I think it was) and if the accident sign didnt appear again we'd carry on. If it was seen again we'd veer off at 2 and run up the "A" roads instead. We eventually went straight thru' on the M6/M54 and saw nothing.

Cosford certainly had done a lot since our last event there and some great exhibits. Pity I didn't win the long distance prize but all credit to the guy who'd travelled down from Scotland (I think that was right).
Picked up my new gearbox that morning from Iandollysprint ready for the winter work. Thanks Ian - that was a mean BMW!!

The banana behaved impeccably there and back and, despite a bit of heavy traffic between the M54 and M6 managed the 220 miles back to Plymouth in 3 1/2 hours so quite pleased with that. Some brilliant pics of the event as well - thanks Mike. I think I'll bin mine as they just aren't the biz!!

Hiya,
Sorry Yellow Banana for pipping you at the post for the furthest travelled, 300 miles each way with MUG behaving herself all the way. Not very often I get the chance of 5hrs solid Dolomite driving!!
Made a weekend of it and it was great to meet everyone at the Premier Inn on Saturday.
The Bus arrives to take us to IronBridge

Dear all, Margaret and I :smooch: would like to send our appreciation to everyone concerned with the National dolomite day event at Cosford last Sunday. Our thanks goes to the event organisers and to the Judges (they have great taste these boys :bluewave: ) and to all the people who attended the show especially those who voted our car, FRW(affectionately known to us as "Baby blue  ) the car you would most like to take home with you. It means a lots to the both of us that we are not the only ones who think our car is sweet :smitten: .

Though the weather was extremely cold at least it stayed dry, which is more than can be said for a lot of the shows this year, but Margaret sez she's gonna bring a thicker jumper next year.

Our Special thanks go the the people who stayed at the Premier Inn on the Saturday night where we had a delightful meal and as us Cumbrians put it "the crack was good" (Margaret sez the wine was very good as well, 3 extremely large glasses worth,) and though it had been a very long day for us and a long drive the time quite flew by and it was later that we planned when we finally got to bed but we finally got to bed in a very pleasant alcoholic haze about midnight, to the crowd concerned we look forward to seeing you again next year

With all our regards to all :thump:
Bill & Margaret
Sadly Bill passed away in May 2022 but is fondly remembered by all his friends in the Club.

Hi all

Sorry our post here is a little late but we've been away all week.

Would just like to echo everybodies comments so far, a fantastic day, very well organised and at a great venue too. Some great pictures of the event just brought back all the atmosphere for us aswell, awesome. For all those that didn't come, well your loss.
No seriously though, it really was fantastic to see so many Toledos and Dolomites together.
The fact that there were a couple of Lathams just added a real bonus too. Never seen that many before.

There were alot of great cars to look at and enjoy, with a real mixture of everything for everybody, especially some beautiful 1300fwds' i can't get enough of em. What a great looking car. A couple of other Triumphs too is always good. :D

Thanks for the memories.

Des.

Hey! that's me, in the picture!
My first time too! What a good weekend. Thanks to all who did the organising.
My cars first long run, even though it took 5hrs to get home due to traffic. It behaved, would say without missing a beat. but just to keep my on my toes every now and then it did miss a few beats. All in all a good trip
Thanks, see you all next time
