No. That was performed by one Mr Douglas Campbell, of Mintlaw, by Peterhead, Aberdeenshire between the 3rd of February, 1991 and the 19th of October, 2007. Douglas was a meticulous man, he worked slowly yet only stopped to sleep, eat and perform his ablutions. OK, so his car was off the road, sans water pump for some time.
You, Glenn, are F1 pit crew by comparison.

hopefully she will be running again this weekend

Luck mate, and plenty of it, not that you'll need luck, 'cos it's all going to come together perfectly. :)

well not much to report today due to it chucking it down with rain but I did manage to fit the cover properly and reconnect the bottom hose after I flushed the system through.

Also managed to fit a rather splendid 1970's leather steering wheel cover too

2 weeks off

#36 Post by Lord Tolly »

Right Ladies an :? d Gents.....

I have now got 2 weeks off to finally finish getting poor neglected Little White Tolly on the road again....

Due to lack of time I have not had a chance to finish the job.

also on a lighter note I have just bought for the princly sum of £15

2x good s/h starter motors
1x low millage 2.0 TR7 engine complete with new clucth plate and cover.
and an assortment of misc dolly 1850 items .

so the question on my mind is....

do I finish putting the orginal engine together or should I assemble the engine I bought today complete with new clutch and pop that in.....

You can put the original back together and sell Brian the TR7 lump, as he's looking for something to go in his 1850 while he builds the other
£15 though! Bargain.

don't know what to do at the moment....by the looks of the engine I have picked up it looks it has had a slightly easier life than the one currantly in Little White Tolly as today as a bit of a test I pulled the water pump cover off in 5 mins and turned the impellor bolt and the pump just came out in one go complete with brass cage!!!! :D

If Craig(beefertoo) is about could you tell me any history on the LWT's current engine???

Little White Tolly...a bit of luck

#40 Post by Lord Tolly »

went to see a good garage customer of my work today as he said he had something for the Tolly.

When I arrived he handed me a pair of brand new headlamps for my beast!!!!!

while I was there talking it turns out he used to work for the local Leyland dealers in the mid 70's and early 80's and has said he would be up to the chalange of sorting my Toledo out for me and also he said he may have a few more dolomite/toledo items in his garage.

so it looks like the tolly is going away for a short holiday :D
