Re: 1974 Norwegian sprint
I would shift your raids away from Rimmers.
I get water pump kits from Fitchetts or Robsport who both do the seal without the graphite ring.

Do i have to lower the suspension to allow lifting the complete engine/gearbox out? And the exhaust downpipe???? Hope i can leave that on the manifold

Re: 1974 Norwegian sprint
It can be pulled out with the suspension still attached - but you'll need to lift the front of the car to get enough of an angle.
Many people prefer to remove the car from the subframe - lifting the body off of the suspension and then pulling the engine, gearbox and front axle clear from underneath.

Ok. I think i`m going to lift the front of the car then. I want to keep it on wheels.DavePoth wrote:It can be pulled out with the suspension still attached - but you'll need to lift the front of the car to get enough of an angle.

Re: 1974 Norwegian sprint
Or you can pull the engine box and exhaust downpipe out together on a crane....
Just disconnect the propshaft and exhaust from the downpipe...and clutch slave from gearbox....just leave it dangling....speedo cable and various other little fiddly things like earth strap and starter cables...

I thought Norwegians were quite tall? There's a mini cafe-racer meet happening on your window ledge!
