Sprint Spot Lights

#1 Post by kevin »

Sorry to trouble you, I am about to purchase a Sprint , its what i've always wanted and something for me for a change.....

I wanted to put Spot lights on it . Its 1976 . I want to keep the car as original as possible. Does anyone know what is the best for the car re keeping it authentic ? Would this be Lucas ? Does anyone know where I would get these from and the white or black covers that I have seen on a few Dolomites.

Like this I guess..........

Look for lucas spots one ebay woul;d be my advice as well as placing a wanted add on this forum.

Whatever you get please use proper relays. The column dip switch is marginal for the existing lights as it is, so extra load of spots will burn out
the main beam contacts pdq.

One of my old cars. Spotlights had been removed by the time I got it along with that steering wheel and the wheels. Not sure how old them pinctures are but it wasn't as good as it looked. Went to somebody in Denmark. I still have the number plate on retention.

Hi Kevin, Welcome to the board. How about this as an alternative suggestion. On my 1850 daily driver I have standard outer headlamps and 75W halogen inners for the main beam. You can spot a rabbit at 500 yards. So spot-lamps ? Not necessary in my opinion, and they restrict cooling into the rad;
HTH,
Tony.

I know they're not to everyones taste, but I don't care, I like them and that's what counts.

to compare, my PI had period Lucas spots, but these seem to go for silly money unless you're lucky.
