Hi Mike, how are you?

From information gathered from various sources, the quoted number of Sprints build per year would give you a clue :

1973 production -> 5446 Sprints
1974 production -> 4232 Sprints

That would make the first Sprint build in 1975 -> VA9679

From May 1975, a new series of Sprint production started with a new chassis number series, starting from VA15001. You can recognize this series by the protection strips on the lower doors, an oddments tray around the gear lever and a rocker switch for the HRW on the dashboard instead of the pull-knob below, etc.

As your car is from the 1st series, I guess that would have been the reason your BL-dealer wanted to clear your car from his stock.

Hope this helps ;-)

He who is on a council estate, out of work and on his beam end, keeping an old toledo or dolomite or any other old banger going needs
all the help he can get. He doesnt want to wait another year to save 200 quid which for him could mean the difference between being
able to drive to the next job interview or not. or worse not fix his dodgy brakes or shockers but keep driving.

Have you been to an council estate since the 1970's, our local one is full of BMW's, Merc's, Audi's and very few 'old bangers'. (and no its not full of immigrants) ?

Meanwhile back on the RFL discussion those on here who have their expensive to tax cars can now at least spread the cost by paying monthly :lol:
