I was going to use polyurethane type evo stick, but after reading the post, could
do with some guidance.
There are two type of evo-stik (actually there are lots, let's not go there), the 'normal' old fashioned type and a type that won't melt the plastic.................it tells you on the tin.
I love the smell of the old stuff..........

Hi Bill, when I spoke the chap at LBH he didn't specify whether the D Post material was plastic or the same material as the vinyl roof. I really only require one side but may replace them both so they match.

Hello Dave.

I too had a small area of grot under my trim on the offside. I managed to peel back the original plastic enough to clean up the small area of rust, however I was never happy with the plastic afterwards.
I picked up some vinyl from either the NEC or Resto show and they also supplied some adhesive in a tin to apply by brush. This I applied to the body of the car before applying the vinyl covering. I left it overnight before trimming the excess and fitting the trim back on etc.

If you get a decent length of material, you can have a couple of goes at it!

That sounds like a good course of action Matt :-) does anyone have pics of their finished replacements? I'm wondering if vinyl would be better than the plastic? It would surely be easier to come by I'd imagine?

Kind Regards

thanks everyone,Myles.

Martrim make the panels from vinyl, similar to the roof material. I know they have seams in them where the 90 deg. angle is but I've not actually seen any in the flesh.

Hi Everyone
An interesting discussion. I'm going to need a little more research. I'm really wondering if the grot may not be so bad as it sounds but as has been said, I won't know until I take it all off and look.

Thanks for the comments and will keep all posted.
