Rear windscreen plastic insert

#1 Post by simonhorton »

Do early Sprints have the plastic insert that goes around the screen in the rear screen rubber

Does anyone have a cross section of the insert , as I have a Ford roll and not sure if the same ?

Many thanks

My 1975 one does, and if it wasn't like a summer's day on Shetland out there at the minute I'd take a picture for you.

If your Ford stuff isn't right, you can buy the beading from Rimmers. http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-613960
Current fleet: '75 Sprint, '73 1850, Daihatsu Fourtrak, Honda CG125, Yamaha Fazer 600, Shetland 570 (yes it's a boat!)

Past fleet: Triumph 2000, Lancia Beta Coupe, BL Mini Clubman, Austin Metro, Vauxhall Cavalier MK1 & MK2, Renault 18 D, Rover 216 GSI, Honda Accord (most expensive car purchase, hated, made out of magnetic metal as only car I've ever been crashed into...4 times), BMW 318, Golf GTi MK3 16v x 3

My 1974 Toledo, my 1977 Dolomite 1300 and all my FWD cars didn't have the trim strip. My 1975 Sprint and my 1850 both have it.

All Sprints had the finishing strip.

I get mine from Phoenix Supplies. 7 metres will do the front and back.

Part no. PT 11 £1.90 per metre.
Sprintless for the first time in 35+ years. :boggle2: ... Still Sprintless.

Engines, Gearboxes, Overdrives etc. rebuilt. PM me.

Many thanks for the replies

I think the triumph insert is " T " shaped as my ford trim is flat

Thanks again
