Thanks Mart! And if you want to critique the lap, feel free! I know I turned in much too early at Quarry and paid the price!

And the 2000 (which has some sort of BMW powerplant) is not twice as quick as me, it just rolls twice as much!

At first I thought it was Mart up front and I thought "Blurry hell this man is fast to close on Mart like that" then Mart came past :)
well you answer your own question when you realised quarry was a touch early and the only cars that can take that line are ones with huge power and they dive straight to the apex under braking and then turn immediately accelerating away.
Looks like a lot of fun was had and I hope the 12th is fun too.

Well........ Mart has about 50 more horses than me and not much more weight. Plus years and years more experience at Coombe, which is his "home circuit".
As that was only my third visit in 20 something years (first was pre-chicanes) I am not upset by being passed by him, just wish he'd slow down a tad so I can follow him and learn his lines and braking points!
I'm not normally that messy at Quarry and have it fairly well most of the time, its the corner into the pit straight (can't remember it's name) which is bugging me, I seem unable to carry as much speed through it as other drivers and it's costing me. At the very end of the clip you can see both Mart and the 2k leave me for dead on the pit straight. I must be braking too early and/or too much, must work on my commitment!

I think it was a very good video and yes Mart has an advantage cos he's mad.
I remember being a passenger on an airfield with him a few years ago and he just went faster and faster until he fell off 8) I think we both enjoyed it.
I am definitely slower these days and there has to be a cocky wotsit to fire me up.
Pre chicanes! that would be about 96 then.
We have not gone to Combe for about three years and five years since I used my Sprint there.

If you can afford it (about £300), the GoPro Hero 4 is the one to go for. All the others don't have quite the same video quality as the GoPro but they're great value nonetheless.

Please see original post.

I actually went with one of these for now...

If it turns out to be not quite what I want, I can always put it back on Ebay.

Ooooh ! I've got one that is very similar to that only its 720p. 2 1./2 hours recording time but only 90 mins battery life. The images are quite good except I would have preferred a wider angle lens for use as a dash cam;
A good cost effective solution !

I may be able to dig out an old smart phone with a cracked screen Martin. Works fine as a video camera however. You would just need a mini memory card.

Let me know and I will see if I can find it.
