In the USA they sell High Performance which covers all petrol and some diesel engines.
Powercool 180 is the equivalent I was told.
I bought this coolant at the time shortly after Evans had started manufacturing in South Wales for the
European market. Autocool wasn't listed then.
I have been using this PC180 coolant for a few years. A couple of months ago I drained it out (to facilitate
fitting an electric water pump) and found no difference to its colouration from new.

Re: Will the real temp please stand up...
I guess only time will tell how WC's age and any long term effects are revealed. In a similar way that poly bushes were seen as a "fit and forget" (had to drop that one in
) resolution to standard bush failure, only for time to reveal that they cause metal fatigue in the trailing arms and their under-body mount points.

Okay..
How long a test is necessary Karl?
Evans WC has been around since the 90s,
long term tests in working HGVs have shown no deterioration after one or two million miles.

PS Trailing arm failures have occurred on standard cars with standard bushes…..

Re: Will the real temp please stand up...
I got an instant reply from my query to EWC about their recommended coolant for the 1850 / Sprint and a reply on the discolouration on the MGB coolanr.

Hi Tony.
Many thanks for your email.
Firstly, the coolant that has discoloured from your MGB is fine to use, the colouring that we use to differentiate the products is just a drop of dye which can discolour over time and usage.
For your Dolomite with the good mix of metals within the system, I would recommend to use our Power Cool 180 which has all the benefits of Classic Cool as its base formulation but also has a tweaked inhibitor formulation to give extra protection to more extensive aluminium content such as the block or the head in this case. There's enough protection in the existing inhibitors in Power Cool to protect the rest of the different metals within your cooling system.

So full marks to them on customer response.

Err, I think that is a sufficient duration for a testsprint95m wrote:How long a test is necessary Karl?

Re: Will the real temp please stand up...
I'm glad that's been cleared up, all I have to do now is check the brass cage O rings,
change radiator, Evans flush, and fill up with Power Cool 180.

Which rad cap should be used with a non pressurising system? Or doesn't it matter, as the system doesn't pressurise?
Aye,.....
As long as it seals, it doesn't matter Karl.
