Re: Brake master cylinder
I have a master/servo cylinder from a 1500HL on the bench for painting, this is how I removed it.new to this wrote: ↑Mon Aug 28, 2017 6:07 pm Today i tired to remove the brake master cylinder, undone the two bolts either side but it wouldn't move,am i missing something ? Or is it they get stuck

1)Remove bracing bracket for servo (probably not needed for cylinder by itself)
2)Serve is held in by 4 nuts on inside bulkhead
3) Master cylinder is two nuts to servo, nothing more on mine. It did require a screwdriver to lever off due to corrosion.
Hopes that helps.

Re: Brake master cylinder
The master cylinder does recess into the servo slightly and it is there that they can stick; gentle persuasion, plus gas and perseverance is all I can offer!

Re: Brake master cylinder
Over the gearbox to the slave which is mounted on the nearside of the gearbox body

Re: Brake master cylinder
Often not, but there is a flexible clip which fixes under one of the gearbox top cover bolts that loosely holds the pipenew to this wrote: ↑Tue Aug 29, 2017 9:48 pmAlun

Re: Brake master cylinder
I had the same problem on my 1850 HL.
as Alun said, plus gas, a bit of persuasion here and there.
