Fuel hose replacement.

I had a misfire in the 1850 yesterday coming off the M4. The rev; counter was steady so I deduced a fuel problem. Pulling the choke out enabled me to get it home except for a smell of petrol. I discovered a steady drip of expensive carrot juice from the rear SU overflow pipe. So it was the usual float chamber lid off and have a look-see. There was a bit of gunge lodged in the needle valve orifice. A careful wash-out with carb cleaner showed it to be rubber rather than rust and there was another bit just behind it.
So I guess it started by partially blocking the orifice to give fuel starvation then moved furthur in to stop the valve closing and it flooded. Sorted for now.
I was wondering about alternatives to the Petroflex hoses I have which are only 3 years old.
I don't think polythene is a good idea but it wouldn't break up.
I found PTFE lined fuel hose. Expensive and I could only find it in the USA.

I wondered about right angle fuel filters right on the carb inlets. They seem to be available for motor bikes...

But this would involve more potential leak points and possibly more failure points.

And I found ethanol resistant fuel hose from Burlen.

The problem with the 1850 is the fuel hose has a 90 degree bend to reach the float chambers.

Any other solutions ?

I believe the hose we require needs to be manufactured to meet spec SAE J30 R6. This is the low pressure version which is lot cheaper than than the High pressure version.

(If buying plastic check for compatibility for unleaded petrol!)
You can get brass ones too.

The important thing is to get proper barbed or beaded ends and use the correct hose clips.
(In fact, with the barbed type you could get by without hose clips but I myself always fit clips.)
