Front subframe questions for you engine swapped guys

Hi All

for all you guys with engine swapped, where have you mounted the engine to? looking to mount my Jag engine into the car but the engine mounts want to be in the same place as a sodding great big holes in the subframe for the steering rack/fwd axles, any hints or tips? i really dont want to mount the engine too far forward

My engine bearers on the Carledo ended up in much the same place, I just made some card templates and built some L shaped brackets in 3mm steel and welded them to the subframe. Had some pics, but they're trapped on Photophucket.

Thanks steve

Sounds strong enough, have looked at 5mm 355 steel U brackets which are way stronger than they need to be, just can’t find a good location for them. Push comes to shove, I’ll weld some 3mm plate to the chassis leg and mount to that

Steve, you should be able to get Photbucket links working. You just put "~original" after the ".jpg" and it should work.

With the way chassis legs corrode, I’d suggest this is not a good long term idea!

With the way chassis legs corrode, I’d suggest this is not a good long term idea!
Do they rot inside to out? I was going to fill with structural foam after welding plates to it
