I just used a bit of scrap 3/8 diameter steel rod and bent it into a "U" shape and welded a 7/16 ring spanner that I cut up. Where would I be without my welder?
Over the years I have made many special tools like the one that removes the dreaded water pump when the builder of the engine has not smeared the unit with grease prior to fitting.

The bend at the business end is about 45mm or 1.75" and the overall length is about 300mm or 12"
