Correct Rubber Mats

#1 Post by RSi »

The mats in the green Dolomite that's for sale are the same as I have in mine, but if you look closely you can see they're not a great fit around the gearbox tunnel. My question is are they the correct Triumph ones for the Dolomite's.

This is the first photo I've seen with the same as mine.

No they are aftermarket, i had some also, replaced them for the tailored carpet type with the the Triumph Laurel emblem as they were a better fit, i thought the originals were built in to the carpet or maybe that is just early ones.

So the ones we see there are aftermarket rubber ones, just with 'Triumph' added to them? They're some quality although a poor fit.

Was there not an option to buy genuine BL rubber mats to add.

I have a pair of these mats and can confirm they were aftermarket as a while ago I traced the current owners of the brand in the hope the tooling still existed; sadly, it doesn't.

That's explains it for sure then.

What about a BL option in rubber, are you aware if these were ever available.

Thanks, but I was hoping to find a BL original set of mats to protect the carpet front and rear. Howver, the rear ones I have of these are a good fit though.

Not a better pic by hand but one of mine came with these and are a good fit. These have Triumph on them. My Allegro has similar but with Allegro on it. Also a good fit.

That looks the same as mine but just not a good fit round the tunnel.

if you own a Dolomite with a proper engine then they fit better as the tunnel isn't as wide ;)

And Murdo's auto has a tunnel that is wider even than a manual Sprint one! Which doesn't help him find some mats that fit!

Just as an aside, the 1500, 1850 and Sprint autos all share the same tunnel as they cover the same transmission!

Does the Sprint share the box with any other models Steve?

That explains why my mats are are even poorer fit to the manual in the photo, never realised the tunnel was wider.
