I searched for the answer to this but failed, probably through incompetence.
I need to replace springs and dampers on my Sprint as they are the originals and getting very tired. It looks as though GAZ shocks come with bushes. Are these polyurethane or fake rubber? Do I need to bin them and get polybushes separately? I'm going for ride adjustable only as I want to keep standard height and will go for standard springs.
Thanks
Howard

Re: GAZ Bushes
Gaz shox come with rubber bushes fitted. These SEEM to last fairly well (unlike the AVO ones) I've had Gaz ASPs on the Carledo for 7 hard years now and the bushes are still the ones that came with them.

Re: GAZ Bushes
What's wrong with the AVO bushes? I had mine for many years with no probs.

Re: GAZ Bushes
Thanks Steve,
Seven years and counting seems like good enough for me especially as poly bushes don’t seem to last forever either. I’ll stick with the provided ones.

Re: GAZ Bushes
I know you did Mart and that might be the clue! More recently several folk have reported the bushes disintegrating on AVO shox in very short order (both time AND mileage) Can't say for myself as I only use Gaz, but Jeroen was one of the reporters!

Re: GAZ Bushes
If you go GAZ, on the front check the steel insert that the bolt goes through. On my set the steel bush was "baggy" with the bolt. I had to use some dowels pressed into the their dowels to make the bolt a decent fit. Maybe the clamping force does away with problems if it doesnt move about on the bush(insert) but if you get a random rattle take them off and check it. Prob 2mm difference . Im happy with the shocks themselves otherwise.
PS if you use gaz fully adjustable (height) make sure the damper adjuster knob is facing INBOARD or the top arm/balljoint will hit the adjuster and damage it.

I had Avo's made with a uniball at the front. Those were fine on a rally car.
