Mr Carledo sir....
You mentioned in the past you used to fit sunroofs.
Im wondering if you can identify the make of the one fitted to my Dolomite, more out of interest than anything else.
I know it was fitted brand new in 1972, its listed on the bill of sale.
Theres no makers name on it anywhere. I know its not a proper Webasto as its not wood framed.
I often look at cars at shows with similar roofs but never seen one the same as this, with the chrome handle sticking out - most of the others seem to use a recessed black handle.
Could it be an early Weathershields?
Thanks - Matt.
Yes mate, it's an early Weathershields roof, the visor is unmistakeable!

Thats great, thats what i thought thanks! If i ever need to remove it, im assuming the row of screws through the rear of the headlining retain the rear part?

That's it! Good luck getting them out after all this time though! The other bars just twist out, with the roof mostly open, pull 1 bar forward at a time and deliberately get it out of parallel with the front frame and it'll come free. Then repeat for each successive bar.
My missus had a Weathershields roof in her 63 Herald, the handle on that looked just like yours. By the time I was fittng them in the mid 70s, they'd gone over to the sleeker (and safer) recessed handle, usually a chrome pull down and twist job in a black plastic frame!

it was a company car at the place he worked at and he bought it when it was 1 year old off them.
