Front Parcel tray fitting

#1 Post by sm519193 »

I can see that front parcel tray refurb and fitting topic has had some interest over the years
The parcel tray is out (again) after not being able to workout why its still all floppy and seems unsupported, looking at the parts manual my car seems to be missing two brackets and a place that the brackets would fix to, I am hoping someone will enlighten me to what's wrong here

the brackets I am talking about is 629286

here is a picture of where I think they should be, or am I missing the obvious

I think the two brackets you refer to bolt to the two brackets on the heater matrix.

I think that offer a bit of support but my parcel tray used to dip down in the corner near the transmission tunnel, there is little 'front to back' support.

I remade mine form 4mm ply, seems to hold up quite well.

I don't know if I have a spare pair of brackets that you need, I'm sure somebody will.

Thanks Malcolm,

I am taking mine apart now, haven't made up my mind what medium I am going to fashion the parcel tray with yet, but the brackets are a bit of a mystery even if I got a pair I just can't see where they attach. There doesn't seem to be anything on the side of the heater for this

Thanks for the pic,
I seem to have a bracket (as shown in picture of mine) but mine doesn't have the left hand upright bend, and doesn't have the right hand bracket at all, but then neither does the the other pic.
Confused...!

I got the picture from the web,
mine had the brackets with the upturned ends both left and right of the heater,
looking at your picture it looks like your brackets have been replaced by a non standard part.
