Chrome trim
Chrome trim
Is there a special tool or technique for removing the chrome trim on the side of the car. Without kinking or marking it.
Re: Chrome trim
I bought a set of trim removing tools from my local car accessory shop which I used for taking the door panels off without destroying the clips/panel. Most are tapered plastic and although I have not used them on the side trim I daresay there is a tool in the set that would do it. Suggest you see what is available at your local shop.

Re: Chrome trim
In the absence of something off the shelf I modified a 1/2” spanner to do the job.

Re: Chrome trim
Hook it over the top and whack it with the heel of your hand. Sure it hurts a bit if you've not practiced, but it doesn't damage the trim. For best results, start at the curve at the top of the A post.
Taking it off I just use a pair of pliers over thin cardboard, ie Weetabix box. Clever tool though, Kudos!
