not as popular as they used to be - you'll pick up loads of off roaders though, they use them for events. Justyns right -- they are cheap - spend a few quid and you could be talking about your squelch and your handle in no time!
Previous owner of 42 Dolomite shaped vehicles, 14 Sprints, 12 1850s, 8 1500s, 3 V8s, 3 Toledos and 2 SEs
if u dont want it as a permanent fixture, get a slide mount.
this wires up your power/and twig (ariel ) this allows you to slide out you rig (cb),
leaving only the top fitting mount in place (about 5mm deep )
sits nicely on the right hand side under dash..
dont get a mag mount, they wreck your paint (unless you got viynl roof)
get a bayonet boot mount, push and twist your twig, leave in boot!(similar to light bulb fitting).......... ah memories
I remember the AM days.. its me birthday on sunday, I suddenly feel very old........

seemed like a sensible " handle " back then..

I was blackadder - not sure why - was driving a black mini 1340 at the time......twin whip aerials on the back bumper. When I changed the car I kept the bumber as it was so cool ..... I was young....forgive me
