I was thinking it might be a nice period feature for when I finish off the restoration. Does anybody have one, have you ever used one for anything useful etc?

not as popular as they used to be - you'll pick up loads of off roaders though, they use them for events. Justyns right -- they are cheap - spend a few quid and you could be talking about your squelch and your handle in no time!

Richard wanted us to get these for our Dollys. I thought it would dent the Dollys huge sex appeal on the opposite sex. I think just by mentioning it he scared them off!

if u dont want it as a permanent fixture, get a slide mount.
this wires up your power/and twig (ariel ) this allows you to slide out you rig (cb),
leaving only the top fitting mount in place (about 5mm deep )
sits nicely on the right hand side under dash..
dont get a mag mount, they wreck your paint (unless you got viynl roof)
get a bayonet boot mount, push and twist your twig, leave in boot!(similar to light bulb fitting).......... ah memories
I remember the AM days.. its me birthday on sunday, I suddenly feel very old........
I was the Teabag ...
seemed like a sensible " handle " back then..
You live and learn!

I was blackadder - not sure why - was driving a black mini 1340 at the time......twin whip aerials on the back bumper. When I changed the car I kept the bumber as it was so cool ..... I was young....forgive me

i was 'redliner' when i had my souped up mk2 cavalier with 6' whip and a smaller one pluged into my 140 channel scanner which was hidden behind the dash, used to have hours of fun with the smokies.
many a wasted night sat on portsdown hill.

Be careful of having a early cb as they are now illegal if you actually intend to have it working, remember something posted on the old forum about this i think ,or one of the many other forums i check out, something to do with the earlier units working on a certain frequency.

As from a week on Friday CB becomes legal without a license. I reckon it should be quite useful for communicating about speed traps etc...
