good evening folks...
well, an eventful day.
1stly thanks to mr speedy for nipping me down to 'the unit' to collect some bits left there. the pimp-mobile has grown on me, liking it.
ok, so gloria... oh gloria, you hurt my thumb and im not happy.

all the fiddly crap jobs to do, very frustrating, fiddly and crap.
doors are not my friends. i dont like doors. doors in general seem to be my kryptonite. os rear door - stuck closed, not by paint, just a crap lock. eventually opened. and closed again accidentally
took me about an hour to refit drivers door handle

partly due to hurty thumb which really didnt help at all
...but headlights in, tail lights in, number plates on, wipers on. have 3 more door handles to fit, not looking forward to these at all. one door handle has gone AWOL

must still be at the unit. probably with the missing U shaped lock barrel retainer thingie, and the little screws that hold in the number plate lights are also AWOL
fitting indicators on front, trying to push a plastic plug into the panel (the square rawl plug type thing) my thumb gave up pretty catastrophically with a kind of crunching noise as it bent the wrong way. clearly my left arm is stronger than i thought my thumb could handle, so i swore a lot and got a hammer and proceeded to finish the job the sensible way.
gloria has also developed 'weird clutch syndrome', pedal flat on the floor, pumped, swore at, pumped more, wont completely disengage box so backwards-forwards-backwards-fowards manouvres now result in crunch, stall, restart, crunch, move a bit, crunch, stall, GRRRRR, bit more swearing. oh well. soon be solved, but gona be interesting find out what the cause of the problem is. the pedal always used to sort of grind a bit near the floor, but now the grinding has gone, possibly because whatever was grinding is now just past the point where the pedal hits the floor. im wondering if the hose is dying, piston in slave is corroded or something else.
never mind. i took one pic today so im not putting it up, will save until tomorrow. she does look pretty mean with black back end and black plates. with all the trim on and the spots on the front (eventually) shes gona look proper mean. consider this your mean toledo warning. you have been warned.
