It's on the right before the turn for the Tan Hill Inn (of Everest double glazing fame) past Keld. As Steve W says you can plug the postcode into Multimap/Google Maps/Streetmap or your satnav. How about a board opposite the entrance saying something like "Northern Dolly Day this way ---->"? The place is easy to miss. I went up a few weeks ago to find the place and I went past it and ended up over the border in Cumbria. I had to stop in Nateby so's I could get a signal on my mobile to surf this forum and get the postcode and plug it in Google Maps to find it.

Hi,

Is there an organised convoy up to Keld or are people arriving individually?

My Dad told me today that due to his progressing years he is having to leave Keld and the house that has been in our family for over 38 years (since I was born in fact). Those of you who are coming will see how special the place is and how heart wrenching this is to us all for it to have to be sold. So the Dolly weekend will be a bit of a swan song, I hope you enjoy visiting the place.

Price is very cheap, about £4 I think?! Ring my Dad (Pete) on 01748 886549 to book a place, it gets VERY busy in August so don't just turn up!

A word of warning, bring insect repellant if camping; being next to a river it is midgy central at dusk!

Message from Peter to say that if the heavy rain persists until end of week the site could be a tad boggy. There is room on some hard standing for about 6 cars. If we get more than this number, perhaps we can go into Keld Village, there is bound to be a village square or something suitable for us to meet on in safety. I hope to get up there about 11am, so we can sort somethingout then.

Looks like I'm gonna make it in my 1850 after all. The guys I use for MoTs these days are certainly classic friendly. When I called in yesterday there was a modified MK3 Capri. In the past I've seen a Vitesse, a Stag & a MK1 Capri. They're old enough to remember working on these sorts of cars before they were classics.

There is indeed a village square, it is very picturesque, you can get a feel of it here:

http://jacob-atkinson.fotopic.net/p49848824.html

Its much bigger than the cropped photo suggests! There is also Tan Hill Inn (highest in England, of Everest Double Glazing fame) which is 3 miles up some very steep hills and has a huge car park.
