A trackday like the one I went to for the FTOOC at Elvington would be a better bet surely...

All the marshalls did was mark out two tracks instead of just the one, take 50 cars total, of which 10 were FTO's. The FTO's got one track, the rest of the rabble got the other.

And it cost the same for the FTO boys as it would for anyone to go to a trackday at Elvington on that day.

I might look into organising one when Javelin put some summer dates on their website.

But given my Dolly's been off the road for a year now, I'm not going to say which summer!

Well at the moment, it's both time and money that's keeping the car off the road. Retro Rides show - should be plenty of time. Now where's that lottery ticket...

I really like the idea of having lost of quick dollies in one place being driven enthusiastically. I get bored of looking at cars sat still in a field. I've only ever driven on public roads so I think Adam's FTO thing sounds good for me but I can see it'd be less fun for the guys who are used to proper track days. I think the original thread was about 0-60's or top speeds rather than lap times though, so what sort of cost are we looking at for an afternoons fun on a disused runway with some timing equipment and a few cameras? It'd make a brilliant article for the mag!

they have built on the one near me - it was very popular for that sort of thing. You just needed to look right when you passed the sign on the left that said this is private property!

all depends on whether the orange thing is ready in time, otherwise im in. obviously not all that bothered if shes trimmed out inside but will obviously need an MOT and will need to be run in.

there's always something to bugger up progress, may be moving house in the near future and that is a bitch of a project at the best of times...
