The place I used for my powdercoating does polishing, they can do clearcoat lacquer too.

WOW. Incidentially You'll find Bilt Hamber Auto Balm works very well on unlacquered Alloy Wheels. My Sprint has had a similar finish since I bought it in 2003 and despite the washing, brake dust and the occasional shower the wheels are still very good.

Just spoke with the sprayer..................PFJ is now BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I shall go down there tomorrow & take some photos.

BTW, just been speaking with Martin from Martrim & he can do the vinyl roof and the rear quarters for £100 + vat delivered, if anyone is interested.

At last, PFJ getting back to it's former glory. Hasn't been flattened back or anything yet and the black bits will be done at the beginning of next week.

Looks great Mart. I've just got my daily driver Jag back from the Bodyshop, new boot, bumper, rear panels, bootfloor to repair the rear end shunt damage and a repair to bonnet and front bumper to repair pheasant damage and lashings of new paint, looks like a different car to its somewhat forlorn state of a few weeks ago. Just need a service now and a full set of four tyres to complte the rebuild at 18 months old, my oh my, how 53k miles can take its toll on a new car..........................

Made a start on the carbies today, well I've finished them but need to put the assembly back together tomorow.

Another anomaly cropped up whilst cleaning them. I noticed on the front carb (the dirty one in the pic) that the piston lifting pin was missing. So I sourced one from my spares bin, went to insert it but the hole didn't go all the way through. Then I realised that there had never been one. So I drilled the hole out & fitted one anyway. Anyone come across this before?
