Hello & Merry Christmas!
A kind soul has (unexpectedly) given me a pair of K&N air filters for my SU carb'd 1850HL. This is the first time I will have fitted K&Ns to a car so I have a quick question before I do so - am Ilikely to need to purchase new needles or is a tweak of the mixture likely to be enough? Any advice gratefully received.
Many thanks,
James

Re: K&N Filters - 1850HL
As standard an 1850 seemed to run weak at high revs for me so K&Ns will probably require slightly richer needles, someone may come along and suggest which ones...
For the moment I'd fit them and lower the jet a couple flats. To determine whether you need richer needles get your toe down and pull the choke out a bit, if it accelerates then you're too lean.

Re: K&N Filters - 1850HL
Thanks for the advice - I'll probably be having a play this weekend and fitting. To be honest, I think Blu is currently running a little rich (by the plugs) so maybe not too much adjustment will be needed. Will fit, check, adjust as necessary and see what happens.
