door cards

Hi

What would you recommend to re-colour the lower part of a black door card?
not the vinyl, the furry bit...

Mine are getting a bit faded.

On a related note: Has anybody managed to repair the holes in the hardboard where the clips should sit, but pull out when the board's been wet. Alternatively, got an alternative to the clips? The one someone used on the Herald that I won't do to the Doly is put black flange-head self tappers all round the edge, which I've swapped out for black stainless ones. It works, but it's not pretty.

The 16v Slant 4 engine is more fun than the 3.5 V8, because you mostly drive it on the upslope of the torque curve.

Factory 1977 TR7 Sprint FHC VVC 697S (Now all of, but still needs putting together)
B&Y 73 Dolomite Sprint UVB 274M (kids!)
1970 Maroon 13/60 Herald Convertable (wife's fun car).
