Thanks guys...

I believe it was only about 1% of Sprints were fitted with the LSD.
Would the tran-x unit fit (same as TR4?). It's for a mate who for some reason wants the original unit and nothing else.

I remember the ebay units going through for pretty much the same price as a ...

Ta
I read the document and it does indeed say vented discs.

However the FIA papers do not specify. They do allow twin circiut (and show a picture of the AP calipers) under group-1 but there's no close up to check if it's a vented kit.
Group-1 homolgation
Hi All,

Just sorting the sprint for the next season and wondered if any knew if the Sprintparts brakes conversion would fall into "Group-1". I hope it does! The discs are the same diameter and the calipers are still single piston. Only real difference is the thickness due to venting. No ...

Alternator
A quick phone call to Mark @ jigsaw has confirmed that it is very likely to be the alternator and that this is more of a problem now that the new cam has created a lumpy idle.

All I need to do now is fit the bits! (fingers crossed)
Old alternator
The alternator is (probably) the original 17ACR. My Sprint is (was) relatively untouched and so far I've had to overhaul the starter (among other things) so it's no surprise that the alternator is on its way out. The lights never seem really bright even though the dipped have been halogen converted ...

Timing
The cam timing seems fine as it will idle nicely @ 1000-1100rpm and screams its way upto the red line no problem. So, the issue seems to be with the kenlowe then.
Hi
Just got the Sprint back with its nice stage-2 head and fast road cam. It goes very well but I have a problem:

When the Kenlowe kicks in it virtually stalls the engine. It does something similar on my TR4, but the cam on that isn't quite so hairy so the idle isn't as lumpy, so it ...

Cheers
Alex, cheers for the article.

Just organizing a car for over the winter so the Sprint can be garaged and have some work done (and avoid the dreaded salt!), so the article will prove VERY handy.

Cheers again!
