Prop
Hi Smifter,

What prop are you going to use?

I seem to remember the guy who lived in the hills with the brown 1850 saying something about there being a problem if you have the angle of the engine different to the angle of the diff. I'm not sure if it only applies to UJ type props ...

I need some advice.
I've been dolomiteless for nearly a year, and now it's time to get rid of my Spitfire. My wife has just passed her test, and being short on parking space, (and the council having painted a yellow line in front of my house)
Why are you using such a thick oil?
What temperature is your oil getting to during a run?

Stick with it and it'll get there in the end. You'll have to hurry up though or there will be no season left!

Engine Rebuild
It sounds like Jigsaw are trying to blame the problems on engine design rather than your particular engine.

I'd go with what other racers with the same engine type are doing - if they are not having bearing problems and you are, then the problem is with your engine, don't let them convince ...

TR7, Sprint and 1850 use a 146034 big end con rod bolt, so it should work.

Vin Plate
Another stupid law that inconveniences the honest person. As if someone ringing vehicles couldn't get his hands on some chassis plates. Same applies to the registration plate rules.

Is this one any good?
Try some of the lesser known triumph suppliers for blank plates. They may not be so fussy.

Is this a new law or something? I bought a blank one from Moss around 5 years ago with no paperwork. I thought the illegal bit was stamping incorrect details on it.
Had a good link for the vtec engine but it's dead. Anyway the written explanation in this link is quite good even if the crude drawings are lacking...
Did a sketch of the ital and 1500 input shafts last year.
The ital/marina single rail was approx 6 7/8.
Had a look at the diagram for a late USA Spit (this had an electric fan as std), but unfortunately there seems to be an error as both sides of the relay coil are connected to ground!
But you'll have to contact Rimmers. Should have a 12 month guarantee?
I can't see them paying to trailer it to them or for the labour to take it out and send it back, so you want them to agree to you investigating it and them sending the necessary replacement parts.
