Rad re-core price

Well I guess we live and learn - I've never had a rad re-cored before so was guessing £72 was a lot, but not if it's like new (or better if modified) of course. Thanks for the feedback. Will give him a ring if overheating not solved.

Ok...

... thanks lots for all the info. Sadly car not MOT'd so can't really go for a good run, but I will give the box a good clean and run sitting and re-check. It seems to leak even when stationary. More investigations needed methinks. Cheers. <img src=http://www.ezboard ...

Price

I enquired at a local rad place near me to recore a Sprint rad, quoted me £72. I choked politely and hung up. I'm sure it's cheaper than that elsewhere ...

Gearbox gasket

Hi, my Sprint gearbox appears to be leaking - possibly from the gasket. Is it possible to change the gasket with the gearbox in situ, by draining and removing the bolts which hold the two sections together? I won't be trying this unless I am sure it will all go back together ok and springs and teeth ...

Cold heater

While we are on the topic of heat, my Sprint heater seems to be refusing to blow hot air when the engine has warmed up. It was ok, warm but not hot when the engine was last run on the road and the guage creeped past the half mark. I have since re-fiitted the original viscous fan which appears to be ...

Dolomaddad - u outbid me ;o)

Hi Dolomadad, I bid for the chassis leg until it got to 80 odd quid, then I figured I could get one from Rimmers for that (yes, maybe not original, but if gets me through the mot!). Then I found out about club stock so have sent a cheque to nice Mr Malcolm today.
Oh

Thanks for that, damn glad I checked as I was gonna pour the devil's fluid into my OD box in the next couple of days. Guess I'll stick to the EP90 then.

Slick 50 NOT TO BE USED IN O/D GEARBOXES!

Is this safe for Sprint engine & gearbox? I'm assuming there's no reason for it be unsafe, but wondered if anyone had some wise thoughts. Tried doing a thread search but found nowt.
Cheers
