Re: Dolomite Sprint for sale

Depends what you want from a Sprint ?

If you are an originality nut, probably not for you.

However if you are a realist who recognizes Triumph Dolomite Sprints were never going to be original vehicles all their life’s as they were cheap and cheerful in their day so got cut for spares or scrapped ...

Re: Tango, Phase II

Update on work for 2025.

Picking up front and rear NOS doors for the drivers side of the car next week.

In the meantime time two NOS front quarter lights arrived today. Rubbers still in mint condition.

Happy days.

That really is looking good, and just in time for the Spring.

The engine bay looks a million dollars

Re: Tango, Phase II

First job of the year.

Refurb the front seat headrests.

During the winter I was lucky enough to get a full set of seats in black from a lovely lady in the Midlands. They had been in her loft for 20 years in storage. No colour fade and the foams are still in great condition.

I am presently giving ...

Plastic front runner seat knob.

Gents.

Would anyone have a plastic knob as per the attached pictures, for the front seat runners.

I am refurbing a set of seats presently and one is missing.

If they are still available anywhere please do let me know.

Thanks for your help.

Richard

Re: LLU the Mimosa Sprint

Bish

I use a couple of paint shops local to me. Depending on the job just depends who I take it too. The Sprint normally goes to a guy in Hougham which is just outside Dover. Completely old school guy that can have anything in from an E type to some mad one of custom.

My RS goes to another guy ...

Re: LLU the Mimosa Sprint

Sounds like the perfect plan Bish.

On my list this year is change my seats for some I got on FB which are in fantastic original condition.

Lower door skins on front and rear drivers side.

Then re-jet the Webers and get them set up to suit the Sprint. Always running to rich. A member on the forum ...

Re: Poor running - Fuel Tank Replcements

Have you got an in line fuel filter currently fitted ??

I have one in my Sprint which when I changed it last year had done a brilliant job. The amount of debris it picked up was astonishing.

I also have a filter king fitted which again ensures a better delivery of fuel to the carbs.

Just a ...

Re: LLU the Mimosa Sprint

I always find myself asking the same question.

Could I get a better Sprint. Better door gaps as they used to drive me crazy. Better glass, etc.

Then I think it’s a solid 8/10 and I don’t want a concours car or a trailer queen that gets jacked up and mirrors put under it, like the Ford guys do at ...

Re: Weber 40s set up for a Sprint

Cheers Bish and Alun for the replies.

I had it on a rolling road a few years ago and it knocked out very decent BHP readings. Since then it probably does need retuning.

I have had another member kindly send me a link detailing the correct jets etc for the carbs. Once Spring arrives I will begin ...

Weber 40s set up for a Sprint

All

I am running twin 40 DCOE Webers on my Sprint.

The car has a 123 Dizzy and an upgraded camshaft.

The car however does run very rich.

Does anyone have a similar set up and if so what jets are you using in the Webers.

It ticks over at about 900rpm and has great power. The plugs however do ...

Re: Sprint Ignition

the 123 is imo an expensive alternative for the so not talented mechanic.

its still a dizzy (for people who prefer the classic look and who demand modern electronic, this might be the "only" reason to invest):

why i say this:
its still a rotating dizzy with a cap, a finger , a sparc which has to ...

Re: Market Value

I have been following prices the last year.

What I would call good cars are around the £14-16k price range. Even these need some work.

Then there appear to be average cars going for £7-9k. These cars however with a bit of love as long as mechanically sound could prove better value.

Most Dolomites ...
