Re: Tax exempt
Oh well, I've sent the V5C and heritage certificate off to the DVLA now, hopefully they will sort it, fingers crossed.

Re: Tax exempt
I tried this the day before yesterday; went to the post office with my V5C which states first registration at Aug 1980. The PO system, which apparently accesses DVLA direct, would not give the option to give tax exemption for historic status. Even though I had, as a precaution, taken my heritage ...

Re: Wiring Connectors & Carpets
Hi - Richard beat me to it; but the Autosparks option is pretty expensive.
I can pass on some advice I got from Jeroen (he did a great job of building me a headlight loom recently) around removing wires and cleaning them up, its pretty easy and a lot less expensive than dropping £11 on each one ...

Re: Smiths Guage - green filter
Thanks Tony, my natural instinct is to keep it original as much as I can, but if I can't source the green filters then green LEDs are probably the best answer. I guess LEDs draw less current and last longer too.

Smiths Guage - green filter
Hi All,
Does anybody know of a source for the green bulb filter within the Smiths dashboard guages, specifically the voltmeter and tachometer. I have hunted but I just can't find them as a separate part.

Re: Twin Su idle high
And it might be something like the fix that xvivalve helped me out with below...
There are two 7/16" AF bolts which hold the throttle bracket onto the inlet manifold; slacken these and you'll find there is slight adjustment in the alignment of the bracket. If it is not aligned properly, you'll ...

Can anybody explain the talcum powder method of leak tracing that has been mentioned in this thread? It's not something I have heard of before and I am intrigued!

Re: Sprint Brakes (Tandem) troubleshooting
Hi All,
Just a quick update on this - the rear flexible hose does seem to have been the culprit, as I cut through the cable and no fluid came out....closer inspection once removed revealed internal rust and gunk. Also, as soon as removed the flexi hose joint, fluid immediately came out, so I think ...

Re: Is it advantageous to fit a relay in my Dolomites starter circuit?
Another consideration: I also fitted a relay for the starter, and I took the opportunity at the same time fitting a hidden switch in the start circuit, which gave me a simple immobiliser. Not the last word in security of course but could deter opportunist thieves.
