Re: Rear door locks
Most likely the linkage from the interior handle but worth checking that the childlocks haven't been set?
Easily understood, but if that was the case, it would be the other way round, with child locks deployed the door can only be opened from OUTSIDE, these can only be opened from inside.
Must ...

Re: Electric Fuel Pump
There are many choices of pump and at least 2 good locations.
Most of the cheap pumps you find on ebay are poor quality and rather noisy in operation (need rubber mounting as a minimum) the best location is to break into the pipe under the boot floor and fit it there. Most aftermarket electric ...

Re: 1976 sprint rustoration
Hello John,
Chassis leg (from rearmost subframe mount back) and floorpan repair panels, which DO fit, are available from the club (along with many other parts) but you have to be a member to access them. This is for 2 reasons, 1 being legal and the other is that all parts production done for the ...

Even if your main rad is alloy, the heater rad is still brass, so pink is still a no-go.

Always Blue!
The pink stuff reacts unfavourably with brass, like some radiators and always the heater rad.

Re: What`s this load of wires for?
Can't remember them all now, but, in essence you are right, the extra wiring is for stuff on more upmarket models!

I agree it is the plug for the brake failure warning system see attached photo that I took of one that I took off one of my cars.

Re: Steering column support plate/bush
This old chestnut again?
There is an ancient debate about whether to fit this bush from under the bonnet or inside the car.
Most manuals have it fitted from under the bonnet (as I presume yours is, if it falls out) Some parts list have it fitted this way, others show it fitted from inside the car ...

Re: Carb/fuel pump woes. UPDATED with new request.
Okay so I think Steve was spot on with his advice about the fuel pump. I refurbed the carbs yesterday with a kit from Burlen. Initially, I purchased one from Rimmers but several components were not correct!!!! So it was returned…..lesson learned.
I put the carbs back on the car. Set the ‘base ...

Re: Lucas fuse box cover (4 fuse box)
The 4 fuse box is not standard equipment on any Dolomite (they only ever had 2 fuses from the factory)
This 4 fuse box is used on the MKIII Spitfire and also (IIRC) on MGBs and probably several other cars too. So it'd probably aid your search to put these models in your ebay specs. Or just put in ...

Re: Carb/fuel pump woes.
There have been a number of more modern mechanical fuel pumps floating about on the supply chain with pressures up to 6.5 lbs PSI when the car needs less than 2 PSI to run perfectly. So it's POSSIBLE for a mech pump to overpressure the system and cause flooding.

I'd say it's a breather for use with a non-vented filler cap.

Re: 1850 Clutch Change
I put the engine back in the car yesterday along with a new clutch
When I put the box back on i`m planning to sit the back of the engine
on a scissor jack so i can adjust the angle, then put the box on a trolley jack & offer it up
& see how it goes.
One question is there supposed to be some sort ...
