After getting the clutch sorted last weekend, I thought I'd have a look at the apparent high temperature the car is running at, almost 3/4 on the gauge. Now I know us OHC lot always have one eye on the temp. gauge all the time.

and we usually believe what it's showing. I wasn't so sure that is was getting that hot so, first thing this morning, I trotted off down to my Bro-in-Law's garage to have a play with his InfraRed Digital Temperature Sensor, making sure I'd got the Sprint up to a good working temperature on the way down.

. By the time I'd got to his place, the temp. gauge was reading between 1/2 & 3/4. Using the sensor, I pointed it at all the hot surfaces, head, block, top hose, bottom hose etc. & none of them were showing more than 65 deg. C. I checked & double checked. Nope, not hot at all. So my next port of call is the temp. sender on the thermostat housing. Unfortunately I don't seem to have a spare so I shall have to order one, unless one of you guys out there has a known good spare?

Sprintless for the first time in 35+ years.

... Still Sprintless.
