I am also restoring a yellow 'M' plate sprint. What year and number is this one?

Its VA 1617 and it gonna be a bit of a weldathon i reckon......

I Did trial fit the outer sill to check all sill components fit, bit of tinkering and all seems not too bad. You can see the front foor gap looks big, but i didnt have the door aligned correctly, should line up with the rear ok. There had been two repairs to the sills previously which meant the lip on top of outer sill was quite high. I've still got to dress that area with grinder.

You can see the state of the rot at base of pillar. Have cut out rot and started to repair. Did make mistake with fabriaction which set me back. Looks like it steps back a bit to fit the end of outer sill (jonners is sending me end or NOS outer to help - many thanks! )

have been working on the sill end which has been tricky. Couldn't tell what the end looked like due to the rot, got some ideas from pics and also on here. The easiest way seemed to use three triangular shapes and go from there. Was also thinking that it was pretty much unseen anyway! had to do some work at the bottom of pillar also. Nearly there for this part, though am thinking of just tacking on outer sill and then getting spot welder from hire shop when opposite side is done. Am sure some will not like appearance, let me know!

Long time since last update. I've recently been cutting out the rot in the screen corner and welding new in, its not looking too bad...hopefully!
