Hub to disc bolts

#1 Post by SprintMWU773V »

Could someone enlighten me as to the correct bolt which secures the hub and disc? The parts book isn't very helpful and it'll be a pain to remove one. I'm compiling a list of missing bolts etc.

Mark, my BT Cloud also includes the Standard-Triumph Hardware Catalogue which documents the various nuts, bolts, etc. You should be able to identify exactly what the bolt is.

Hope it helps.

Definitely 3/8 UNC and must be 8.8 high tensile and the head would have to have three raised lines to denote a grade 5 bolt. I am almost certain that they are 1 1/2 inches long.

Here is one of the brake disc bolts from my 1850HL which is in pieces at the moment. The bolt is 3/8" UNC and 2" long.

That bolt is part number 157157. Mick Dolphin has them listed on his spreadsheet at £1.50 each. It isn't listed in my hardware catalogue and Rimmer Bros don't list it on their website either so I can't get any specs. The above photo is the best we have so far. The spring washer is WL209 (also listed under GHF333) which is a 3/8" spring washer.

It's annoying when people don't list the spec on the bolt page. I've never changed discs so didn't know they were UNC and I haven't bought new discs yet!

I hardly have any UNC in stock so will see what I can get at work, we have loads in stock so should be OK.
