It takes 5 minutes to grind and drill the plate off. It takes another 2 minutes to have the welded centrepiece off the new one. Then 3 minutes to weld the plate on the new one. Then 1 minute to grind/flatten the 3 welds in the middle.
1. If you can weld
2. After paying £25 for it plus whatever they charged for round the world postage, you'd hope you wouldn't have to!
3. If you do the above, the next person who buys one will have the same problem

Agree but for now the cheapest and fastest solution.

Appreciate the thought but true only if you have a welder.

Which I don't.

Rimmers have come back to me and it sounds like they've had an unpleasant realisation.

All of the stock is incorrect and is #142777. Meaning they have 1300/1500 turret plates in stock

Whereas the 1850/Sprint part #157333 is not available and cannot be supplied.

RB have been their consistently fantastic selves in terms of resolving issues and have simply refunded the cost of the part plus half of the postage of my recent order (this part is heavy and amounted to half the weight est.)

I've just written to Mick Dolphin so hopefully he does have them in stock.

Here is the correct part supplied by Mick Dolphin. Hopefully all back onto the car this weekend.

Why am I sharing? Firstly to applaud his help, customer service and packing prowess.

But also for a small nostalgia moment. When was the last time you saw an original part in an original box? It even had that olde worlde oiled paper wrapping. And the box and paper smelled like they had just been retrieved from a distant shelf by the storeman in a brown coat !
